Today's the day ........................... to return to Blackburn

Back in Blackburn Cathedral for my final stint at the Roadshow. It's beginning to feel quite like home to be surrounded by vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, statues and carvings.

This exquisite angel is at the bottom of the steps that lead up to the pulpit. The pulpit was one of the first gifts of 'new furniture' to mark the transition of Blackburn Parish Church to Blackburn Cathedral. The rich pre-war design was completed in 1940 as a fitting memorial to Dr J T T Ramsay, a Blackburn doctor as well as a former mayor and Alderman of the Borough.
