The Rock

Dumbarton Castle or (Dun Breatinn) which means fortress of the Britons who's earliest noted presence of settlement was in a letter from St Patrick to king Ceretic, king of Strathclyde in AD450.
The castle has housed some famous names through its colourful history including Mary Queen of Scots, Merlin, William Wallace and Queen Victoria.
