Cooking all afternoon
As soon as the early morning mist cleared, I went out with Dickie (the wonder dog) and we retraced yesterday afternoon's walk, looking for the missing keys. I was not very optimistic, but Mum was sure I would find them. I wanted to look at the places where I put Dickie back on his lead, because here I pulled the lead out of my pocket. Sure enough, about half way around, the keys were lying in the path, just where I had stopped to put him on the lead before walking on a road. Phew! What relief. Great rejoicing. Dickie was completely indifferent, but he had a great walk.
This afternoon I spent in the kitchen, making ham stock from a shank I bought at the farmers' market yesterday. I made curried lentil and ham soup, and a chilli bean and ham casserole. Here are the results waiting to be frozen.
Feeling quite satisfied with the day!
