Camouflage

I found two of these caterpillars in the dirt when I was weeding under the little peach tree. By the time I came back with the camera, the bigger one had hightailed it out of there, but this one was left. Green and curled, it is the same configuration as the calendula seeds in the background. We think it will become an evil cabbage moth, sent to devour the vegetables, but I didn't squish it. Yet. I am too fascinated with its strangeness and how quickly it can move.
