Series of Portraits

It's first anniversary of Kumon of Lowell. Mr. SAN*** got the assignment to shoot the event and he called me up last night to ask if I can join him today. When opportunity knocks I don't give second thought, we started early morning for Jones Center located @ Springdale,AR to setup our studio before the event starts. It was another day of Backdrops, Tripods, Strobes & Flash. Almost 2 hours of shoot, 50+ kids, 100+ portraits, a day very well spent.

This is the first shot I took when we were testing our Strobe setup, you can see clear shadow of Mr. SAN*** on right. While working with artificial light this is the thing to be taken care to have setup such that it doesn't create shadow in the frame.

* Learnt today about Butterfly lighting: It is named that because of the shape of the shadow created directly beneath the nose. When the nose is pointing in the direction of the light, wherever it may be, and the light is high enough to cast a downward shadow, you end up with butterfly portrait lighting.

We are having pretty warm weekend, all the ICE is melted and snow is very very soft now.. hope it gets warmer now. No more Snow please.

Another one Bright Lights
