Dear Heart

Broken brown shoes and muddy ankles

Dear Heart,
I finish so early on a Friday, and the sunshine was so beautiful that I couldn't resist grabbing an apple and next week's reading and going for a walk in Bute Park. I was on the lookout for sitting-trees for summer, and found a couple of perfect specimens! I walked all afternoon, windswept and spellbound, and found a white rose bush that reminded me of the faery story. I sat by the river and read for a while, and on the way back found this.
A love letter.
Love, Lydia x
P.S. I have found a ladybird refugee on my windowsill. Her name is Cordelia, I believe, though I am far too tired to engage in formal introductions tonight.
