Another frustrating day spent trying to implement a gallery viewer for my web site. I downloaded three today, two were far too complicated to set up for my poor addled brain and the third one looked awful, with the thumnails bearing no resemblance to the dimensions I specified.

I am trying one called Gallery 3. It uses a MySQL database, which is proving to be another can of worms. I followed the installation instructions and get a message "There aren't any photos here yet!" Marvellous. Could it be that I haven't uploaded any yet because I am not getting the page I should be getting that asks for information about the MySQL database? And of course, no assistance is forthcoming for my particular problem.

I can see a long night ahead of me.

Because of this almost obsessive preoccupation with an a gallery viewer, it was late when I left the house. But the light was good. Unusually for me, the first shot I took ended up as today's blip. The recent rain we have had has left the ground totally saturated and the run-off is collecting in the gutter. With the sun beginning to drop in the sky, it lit the standing water up like a strip of silver, well it did if you were shooting in the high contrast B&W mode. :-)

So that is what your are getting today.

If anyone has any advice on gallery viewers and setting them in Wordpress, do share it and help me preserve my sanity. :-)
