Pictorial Allsorts

Abandoned Toys

I was saddened to learn of the tragic death this morning of former England cricketer and broadcaster Trevor Bailey in a house fire. He was 87.

I fondly remember his dulcet tones giving the end-of-the-over analysis on Radio 3's Test Match Special broadcasts. Listening to the ball-by-ball commentary of Test Matches was a must for any avid cricket fan, which I was until I moved to the United States. These days I am unable to name a single player in the England team, although I know they trounced the Australians this winter.

It was another overcast and cold day here in Jacksonville and not a very inspiring one. I spent most of the day working on the Tea With Calvin web site and still cannot get the images to display correctly. I may have to give up the gallery viewer as a bad job and just stick with photographs in the posts.

I did sell my soul to the Devil and became an Amazon affiliate. The web site now bears a couple of adverts/links in the sidebar. I think I may well reduce it to just the customized one later today.

I just hope that the three people who visit the web site use my link for any purchases that they make with Amazon.com.

I was determined to get out of the house today and go on a photographic safari. Once again, I left it until late in the afternoon. I noticed a lot of people had put disused items out for the trash collection tomorrow morning. I saw old CRT computer monitors and these two toddler trucks. The editorial board went for the latter and the colour version. It will come as no surprise that I favoured the B&W version.
