Miasma

This is a plague doctors mask. Pretty creepy eh? The "beak" held flowers and herbs as it was believed that the plague was spread by bad air or miasmas and the herbs would fend this off. I think if I was ill with plague, this is the last thing I would like to see. And it probably would be the last thing I would see since your chances of dying if you caught it were over 90%.
