Happy As a Pig ....
I've got a busy day ahead so I'm taking this early. My friend, Julie, has been helping me out a lot lately with her big car. Yesterday I returned home to find all the wood I could ever want - well for the next two projects - sat in my front garden. What a gem.
So today, the sun is shining, the first we've seen of it this week. There's not a rain cloud in the sky. I have been to the allotment, re-measured everything in sight, collected the saw and now I'm home sawing merrily. The raised bed in my back garden is the perfect height for sawing and I have used it often for this purpose. Later I will take the wood to the allotment and start piecing together the cold frame jigsaw. I'm all a flutter with excitement.
It's not often a woman is happy doing something like this, but there is a tomboy element to my dad's family. I love a practical task. This shot also allowed me to appreciate more those people who set the self timer and run to pose on their SPs. Running through the garden, over the wood, picking up the saw, assuming the position and trying to get enough momentum in the saw so you can see motion in the shot was an interesting challenge. But then I like a challenge.
My girl is bringing home some pals tonight before they go out to Top of the Pops - a school band show. My boy has left the slopes, all bones intact, and is sight seeing in Boston today before heading home overnight. It's been very quiet without him. I have walked in and out of his room a few times this week. Thankfully the only thing I can smell from it is the sweet smell of furniture polish and clean air. Wonder how long that will last?
P.s. I must be getting more used to blip than I thought. Not only an SP but one in my down and dirty work clothes and shoes, and hair, just put up and secured any old how. My standards are slipping!
