"The reason for the season"
Saturday
A quiet, but nonetheless enjoyable Christmas Day with just the three of us. In the evening we drove out to the Niederman Family Farm in Liberty Township, which puts on this wonderful Christmas Display. Tens of thousands of lights decorate the half-mile path where different scenes from the Bible are depicted, telling the story of the life of Jesus. Loudspeakers set the mood with Christmas music as you walk around. It was particularly picturesque this evening with the snow on the ground. It was a cold night, and so we were glad to reach the big barn at the end, where the family serve cookies and hot chocolate. Everything - admission and refreshments - is free, though of course they welcome donations. It was a great way to wind up the day.
