On the road again!

This morning we set out on our long drive to our daughter and son-in-law's in Houston, Texas. The morning was cold, but sunny and dry. I took this shot from the car as we were travelling through Kentucky. The first part of our route was the same as last year - southwest through Louisville, Kentucky to Nashville, Tennesee, but at that point we took a different route. Last year, we had continued south to Birmingham, Alabama, then continued south west through Mississippi, joining up with the I-10 near Baton Rouge Louisiana, and taking that the rest of the way. This year we took a slightly more northerly route, heading southwest from Nashville to Memphis, on the western edge of Tennesee, crossing the Mississippi into Arkansas as the sun was setting, and continuing through Little Rock (the state capital) to the small town of Hope, Arkansas, (birthplace of President Bill Clinton), where we spent the night - a total of over ten hours of driving.a
