Victory in the Battle for Common Sense!
My avid reader may notice a slight double on the blip front here. If you are here by chance, scroll back a few.
I'm pleased to report that, on going for a much needed caffeine shot to the Little Mermaid bakery this morning, having weighed up the risks of burnt fingers and found that the need for coffee was greater, when they handed me my coffee, it was in a lovely styrofoam coated heat insulating no danger of burned skin little red cup!
My initial assumption that they had put out an APB to all branches with the details of the big moany gaijin, were laid to rest with a glance at the counter. There are now only 2 stacks of cups: clear plastic and red. So now, perhaps down to me, people's champion in my mother's image, none of the non-soup loving citizens of Hiroshima will have to risk their fingerprints!
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and you won't truly get this if you have never been to Japan, to think that someone actually thought about what a customer said, found the RULE not the customer to be stupid, passed it up the chain of authority and had the rule changed.
A faint glimmer of hope for a nation. Now let's see if we can apply the same principle to some of the larger issues......
