Lost and Found

The fact that I work late most of the time means that on many occasions the cleaners come to me with bits of detritus they've found in places where they shouldn't be. Mostly, I get keys brought to me. I dutifully lock them in my drawer, and sometimes remember to make an announcement the following day that a set of keys were found in such-and-such a location. Unfortunately my memory isn't that good, and as a result I have a drawer full of keys.
Today was slightly different in that I was handed a piece of jewelery. This was found in the ladies loo, and has been positively identified as an ear-ring.
It doesn't look much like a ring to me - it's mainly dangly bits hanging off a flower shaped thing.
But I will take Carl's (the cleaning supervisor) word for it and look for an undecorated one-eared woman who seems to be spending a lot of time searching in the loo. The reason I think it's a one eared woman is that if you were going to put your ear-rings down in the loo and forget them, you would leave two behind.

Or am I wery wide of the mark here?
