Annie's In Oregon

Oh Please!!

Leaving the house this morning, not enough time to blip, I sincerely asked God, "oh please give me something interesting to blip today". Now, I don't always think to ask for blip help, but some days you just want to have something extra.

This was the funniest thing, I pass this spot on the back side of Empire Lakes each time I come and go from Mother C's house. Once in awhile, I pull over to do a "drive by blip" and see what I can see. It is the same location from which I shot this.

Today, the sun was coming right at me and, ever since I discovered that I had a bit of control of such things with my camera settings, and angle I use to take the photo, I enjoy the challenge of shooting into the sun. No time to get out of the car, so I pulled over, rolled down my window and aimed the camera down over the lake and proceeded to mess with the settings. I hadn't even looked at the lake because the sun was in my eyes and it was all glarey and I couldn't see much anyway. Leaning across the front seat, balancing the camera on the window edge, I caught a glimpse of a white line in the middle of the picture. I thought it was a ray of sunlight sneaking in, but decided to look at the lake and this is what I saw! I've *never* seen anything paddling around on the lake when I've stopped! I know people do come here with little boats, but I've never seen them from here before. He just paddled right into the center of my view, as if someone said, "cue the boat". I laughed out loud and quit trying to adjust settings and took pictures like crazy until he paddled out of view. Cropped this a bit, but other than that, this is what I got.

Thank You, Lord, that was a kind answer to my request today!
