Evening Light

What a difference a little window makes! Facing the West, the evening light streams in, giving the living room an entirely different feel. Mother Comfort, however, was busy down the hall talking with her cat most of the time during her visit.

The Master Contraptioneer, resting from his labors and planning the trim work in his mind, and I enjoyed the evening light while listening to, "Pepsi, mama's here" from down the hall. She returned for a brief bowl of soup, then back down the hall. She didn't sit on the couch even once. Ahhh, the love between mother and cat.

Something she said during the bowl of soup. She looked over at the window and smiled. She said, "I bet your dad was smiling while you did that", which meant a lot. He has been gone six years this month, and it truly has felt that he would approve of many things.

Someday, the time will come to really work for an excellent quality photo. Days....no weeks...no months like these, however, are just for remembering. They fly by so quickly with so many sudden shifts and turns, the details are lost. I want to remember the first evening spent enjoying the evening sun and another reunion for Mother Comfort and Pepsi.
