Snowmaggedon

Poor New England. I am from Texas. Naturally all this snow is foreign to me. It's even foreign to them. They are measuring it in relation to Shaq's height. Seriously. My poor neighborhood is so lost. Our neighbor from Maine was speechless. People are totally defeated. The mayor admitted an inability to handle the snow and encouraged people to park in garaged and not on the street. I am oddly comforted by their frustration, though my Uncle Michael says that the true sign of a New Englander is that they bitch about the weather, no matter what it is.

No less. The snow has led to some good things in our house. One is productivity. One is me learning to shovel snow, maneuver the icy streets like a champ, fight the internet company, and cook lots of recipes. This one is bon appetit's. It is incredible and I thought the shot of the brownies was excellent. I posted it on Tumblr also. Mmmmm. I could eat them all right now. But I keep myself to one a day. The sidewalks are icy and the gym is closed from the snow, so I need to keep my calories down...

5 Things

1) Faith. Praying for baby H who will lose his eye tomorrow, but hopefully save his life from the cancer that it living in it. And for Kate McRae who was told today that her brain MRI was abnormal, with shadows and growths that are likely to be the return of her fast growing cancer. Sometimes I don't know what my faith is in, or what I am "praying" but I ask anyway. Hoping against hope that somehow life comes from these tragedies in some paradoxical way.

2) Snow shovels and neighbors. It was a truly magnificent night on our street. We were all in it together. It made it more fun.

3) Flannel PJ's. They may not be attractive, but they are warm.

4) My AM and UK. I love them so much. I can't even say it. I can't even explain it. My aunt took the time to text with me today and it made me miss her a little less. She was working and she never even acted busy. That's love.

5) Physical Therapy tomorrow for my back, after the digging I think I am going to need it.
