What a difference a little snow dust makes

This is the Dome de la Sache and behind it Mt. Pourri, which at 3779m is the second highest peak of the Massif de la Vanoise after the Grande Casse.

Yesterday's snow dust made a noticeable difference to the skiing today, and some of the pistes and in-between pistes on the Bellevarde were actually quite pleasurable to ski.

However the real accumulation happened up at the Fornet where AE skied in 30-60 cm of powder. It wasn't forecast, no-one expected that much, and that's why I wasn't there. Hmm. However, if the wind doesn't blow it all away, tomorrow there should be some snow left and the sky will be clear so I'm looking forward to powder skiing in sunshine. On of life's great pleasures. Bring it on.
