Cold Restaurant

Would you go to a restaurant where all the windows have ice on the inside? The floor is dirty, the chairs are old, the tables are stained and people are shouting at each other continually? Well.... this is the window in one of our favourite restaurants. Chuanr (sort of pronounced chwar). Bar-B-Q. and simply the most amazing food. Loosely translated it mean "Great food on a stick".

No air conditioned nice atmosphere. No comfortable seats and table service. If you want something, you call out to the waitress as loud as you can and hope that she understands a poor Chinese accent. The only heating is hot water filled grills in the walls which don't mean much and the heat that comes from the kitchen. Which is part of the reason the windows ice up. No one notices.. because such things are the norm here. AND... I think they are wonderful and charming.

Almost every Saturday night, Shady MoonNick0451, and I go there and almost always order the same thing. Mutton, Potato, Garlic cloves, chicken wings, tofu, spiced bread, mushrooms and beer... all on sticks and Bar-B-Qed. Every week we sit there and say the same thing.. "This is soooooooooo good" heheheheh.

Good food and good company.. Nothing better to finish off the toughest day of the week.
