Copa....Copacabana

Just got confirmation today that we now own a little studio flat in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro!! As I've said many times on Blip before, Brasil captured our hearts when we lived there from 2002-2004 and we've been back for a holiday every two years since then. I was also very lucky to work there for a month running a teacher training course in January 2007 and during that time, one Saturday morning I walked out of my hotel and turned the corner off a busy street into a lovely, peaceful leafy street and I remember phoning Bb at that moment to tell him what a nice street I was walking down and I took a snapshot of the street name so that I could take him back there on our next visit. Well, you've probably guessed by now, but the studio flat we've just bought is on that very street! This was purely by chance as the first flat we saw was there and I recognised the street name! It's been a rollercoaster of a month, what with all the bureaucracy involved and it was one step forward, two steps back as there was always another piece of paper, an official number, or an official stamp or something or other missing. But we did it! The idea is to spend a few months a year there combining work with the lifestyle we like.
