Let's Hop The Atlantic

BMV

Friday.
First English Tutorial of the term. Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I asked a discussion question and we got handed out the sheet of essay questions which is for about three weeks time.
Anyway, then lecture and it brought up some really interesting stuff. I didn't know that there are world famous specialists in gender studies who say that gender is not determined until you are five and before that it's ambiguous. The film really got me thinking about this and, as much as I disagree, it's a really interesting (if not controversial) topic.
It was weird knowing that all the time Nick Mount was speaking on stage, the set was behind a black curtain just a couple of metres away from him and no one could see it.
After class, Mackenzie and I walked along Bloor Street West, cos I hadn't been up that direction since coming back after Christmas. We went to futures, which I have heard mention of so many times since Friday. Funny how that kind of thing happens, isn't it?
It's got incredible cake options and lots of wooden bench seats and is generally quite the coffee place to go to if you're in that part of town.
The sunset was beautiful. And as we walked back in the dark cold, having watched the whole range of changing colours from our seats as we chatted away for hours, we passed BMV. Books, music, video. The classic kind of literature student's hangout. And any other student for that matter. Second hand books - always sells out of the English courses' in the first few weeks of term cos everyone tries to bypass U of T bookstore extortionate prices by getting them here.
Anyway, it's wonderful.
Home just in time for a Burwash dinner (cinnamon sugar and honey fruit bread idea from Paige and Hannah AMAZING) and then Skins watching with Blaire.
