Day Of The Buzzard

Once while on a country walk in the Touraine (France), my companion came across two dead buzzards (buse in French), of which this one was very recently deceased. It was sad and somewhat mysterious to find these impressive creatures. We suspected that they died from poisoning by excessive agricultural chemicals in their food and water sources. After examining the soul-fled clay, to use an old expression, we gave the birds a proper send-off in a bonfire.
