Calm returns
Northern New Zealand has been battered by a tropical cyclone for a few days, nothing as severe as what hit Queensland. Nevertheless the winds have been high (we lost a bougainvillea overnight; the main branch split by the wind shear), and with high tides the heavy rains have caused coastal flooding.
We have been at the Beach House for the weekend, and having sneaked a run between the rain squalls yesterday, this morning was overcast, still very windy, and the rain was in minimalist format. So I went out early. The seaweed piled onto the grass banks above the beach, blown and thrown there by the combined forces of wind and tide.
But this gentle sky and silvery flats, with meandering channel has again got my attention and with apologies for a certain repetition, here it is. (Very minor cropping out of some sky.)
