Rangitihi
Back in Auckland, and it rains, typical!
Spent the day consolidating after 2 weeks away - washing etc, catching up on email, and nearly 2 hours reconfiguring my mother-in-laws insecure wireless connection. Worth it though - the joy of a high speed internet connection. Simple pleasures ... ;-)
In the afternoon I took the kids to the Auckland museum, pretty good and a far cry from when I went there as a kid, only a handful or so <ahem, I think> years ago.
This is a very traditional Maori carving and is either poutuarongo or poutahuhu (the interpretative sign didn't say), one of the supports of the 18m long ridge pole which was the backbone of the meeting house, Rangitihi.
Adam said it looked "pretty scary"!
Just back blipped the last couple of days.
Out on Mum and Dads boat tomorrow until Saturday, will back blip on return.
