Lone Man on the Pier
Today was a beautiful day; lots of sun and blue skies, so I was really surprised that we had a nice sunset at the end of the day. I had planned to try to go over to my daughters house and take some photos of the grandkids for my blip today, and then I looked outside and noticed that there was kind of a haze in the west.
I drove to the fishing dock that has become so popular in many of our local blippers photos lately. I took some shots of the sea gulls. I really wanted to get a nice shot of one. The sun was shining in just the right way that when the birds flew toward the east, they caught the sunlight just right. However, I just couldn't get what I wanted. I also took some shots of the seagulls drinking seawater. Amazing that they can do that and we can't.
Anyway, the sun was going down and didn't seem to be much, but then the few clouds that had formed turned all pink so I thought I would try to get a shot of the pier. There were about 5 people walking around on it at one point, and a few fishing. Finally, I was able to capture just one man by himself, and, of course, the seagull on the piling. I think he is a permanent fixture. The sky was gorgeous. I was amazed that it turned out so beautiful.
