Sleepy little monster
That's what his 'jamas say anyway. They have feet attached to the trouser legs. They are also quite old (and getting a little small) but I dug them out last night because I felt like it, and he likes them so much that he's not wanted to get dressed today.
He's needed convincing to go to sleep for a nap though. We're going swimming later (I'm feeling up to it! Buying those rennies has obviously scared my stomach into submission) and he's going to need all his energy for that.
If you look at this large you might notice that his eye is open a little. He's snoring as well. Just like his dad, sleeps with his eyes open...
And me? Well. We've run out of cheddar. Which means that the cooking that I was going to do while Ben slept has had to wait, because it required cheese. Which means that I am forced to sit down with a cup of tea and a car biscuit or three! It's such a shame really.
I have promised Ben that I will make some more cakes and biscuits next week, but I won't sneak any fruit into them, and I won't slather them all in icing - neither of which he is too keen on. Poor thing. He's seen me baking all week and doesn't like any of it.
Other things that have happened today:
While I was upstairs packing, Ben was digging around in the recycling box. *smash tinkle tinkle tinkle* Oh heavens, what's happened? I ran downstairs asking Ben what had happened and he comes running at me WITH BROKEN GLASS CLUTCHED IN HIS HAND "Broken!" says Ben. Really!!! *horrified* No harm done other than giving me a right old fright, thankfully. I've checked and re-checked his hands, checked his feet (thank goodness those pyjamas have feet attached, he didn't step on any shards), told him to sit down and gave him a jigsaw to occupy him, and gathered and swept and hoovered. There is a new rule now. What goes into the recycling box, STAYS in the recycling box. No digging around for things to drum with. Has he learnt a lesson? Only time will tell.
PS Did I say thankyou for all the lovely comments about the plane picture?! Thankyou!! I'm still amazed!! I do usually have the aperture that wide in the evenings simply because there's not enough light, and as Ben wouldn't stay still long enough to focus let alone take a picture without motion blur, I got Steve (who responds to "stay still!" commands!) to hold still for me. Bless him Ben has a ready smile when he's having a plane flown at him!
Tummy update:
Better! I think :)
Last night was awful though. I did all the housework before finally turning in. I decided that I'd rather feel terrible but have all the jobs done, and then have a sleep, rather than have to do everything this morning. And in spite of the pain I fell asleep eventually and this morning I've not had tummy ache at all! We even went out to the pharmacy for antacids just in case, but I've not needed them yet. I realised yesterday evening that I've not actually eaten properly since Monday when Steve was poorly. Just snacked here and there. And I've not had enough sleep with the late-night cake decorating shenanigans and Ben's tummy bug last week. So it has all culminated in tummy ache, due to too much acid production. And rather than go for the bad boy antacids that Steve got put on last year, I thought I'd at least give the regular ones a try first, now that I have some idea what's going on.
