new tricks

New favourite game - spinning on the computer chair for a long time.

It seems that just now Amelie is doing new things every day. I'm loosing track of them all.

Today she seemed to be saying 'yes' quite a lot. It wasn't exactly a 'yes' more of a 'diss' and a more excited 'diiiisssss' but I'm pretty sure that is what she was saying! She has always been very vocal and is constantly babbling to herself; its quite difficult to decipher the words and see any pattern to them. A few months ago 'geggle' was her favourite sound. She would say 'Aaageggle geggle geggle geggle geggle' and then you would say it to her and she would repeat it again. I filmed her doing it and whenever she heard the film she started repeating it again. Then she moved onto bogey bogey bogey. We are also pretty sure that she has said Daddy and Mummy and meant it but I don't want to be one of those parents who heards a sound and calls it a word when its just a sound and then proclaims their child is talking at three months (unless that can actually happen?! In which case I'm sorry...) When she was 5 months old she would repeat words after me, or at least attempt to, but thats not really words is it, its just repetition. Poor Amelie, she's going to end up with no first words written down anywhere because she talks so much she's confused her Mummy and Daddy!

Today she also realised she can open and close cupboard doors and spent a long time doing so. And realised that the washing machine is quite fascinating (even better when she has to open a door to get to it!).

Her final new trick of the day is Nigh Garden related. I put all of her ITNG skittles in a row and asked her to find Makka Pakka. After repeating it several times to her, she went straight for Makka Pakka. Since Makka Pakka is a favourite I thought that maybe I had better do it again so I asked her to find Iggle Piggle. Once again, she went straight for Iggle Piggle. By the third shot I think she was bored and when asked to find Upsy Daisy (not the tombliboos because even I can't remember which one is Oo, Ee or Um) she went for the tombliboo that was closest in colour to Upsy Daisy. She doesn't like Upsy Daisy anyway so was probably just ignorning her...
