Guitar DVD's

I got my Christmas present from my sister today. Exactly what I asked for. She also got me a second guitar for beginners DVD. Now I have no excuses.

I did the twisty effect with my little compact on timed exposure (no flash) and a little turn of the hand. I worked out the timed exposure on new years eve with the fireworks.

The full glass is the last of the frozen Margerita we made on Chrismas Day. I needed a drink after todays effort at work. The boss came in and wanted to rejuvinate a direct mailer design project we had been working on nearly six months ago. I find the graphic design shoe doesn't fit me too well. This was a complicated project when we were working on it then and that took weeks. Today I designed the mailout insert, proofed it, and made the plates all in one day...plus a few hours overtime!

Doing a project like this for my boss who is a binder by trade was not easy from the start. He bought this all singing and dancing folding machine about a year ago. It is specifically designed for complicated folds and glues for mailouts. The boss dreamed up the most difficult mailer he could think of to send out as promo material and woo a few new clients. I might blip it when it's printed and folded. I wonder if it will impress the clients or confuse them?

I am quite proud of the final result. I did all the design, most of the photography and most of the problem solving. I won't bore you with the issues but I will say I learned that metallic PMS colours are LAB colour in InDesign. Our plate making RIP didn't like that. It took a bit of trickery to solve that one.

Now hopefully I can go back to what I'm actually good at: Fixing real designers files!
