Fishing - Lota Creek

It was way too windy again today to take the boat out. After a very long lie in I decided to dust off the kayak and go for a paddle up Lota creek. The dusting took most of the day.

So late this afternoon I used my kayak for the first time in at least 2 years. I took along a fishing rod, my camera and some lures. I had heard that the fishing was good and I wasn't disappointed. Some bream (pictured) and some flathead, including one big fish that I lost trying to get it in the kayak with me. Dinner swam away!

The bottom line is that my methods are getting better and the path to me being a better fisherman is clearer. I have swapped to afternoon shift at work next week so I can get some errands done. I might use some of that time to go fishing...
