Houston skyline
Sunday
This morning we went to church, then after lunch we walked along the Buffalo Bayou into downtown Houston. As you can see, it was a beautiful sunny day, though cooler than it has been. Although it is not clear from this shot, the tallest building in Houston is the light-colored one in the rear at the left. This is the JP Morgan Chase Tower, formerly Texas Commerce Tower, which stands 1,001 ft tall, with 75 stories. It is currently also the tallest building in Texas, and the 11th tallest building in the U.S. The blue building, which appears to be the tallest, is the Wells Fargo Plaza, which at 992 feet is the second tallest building in the city. The distinctive stepped building at the left is the Bank of America Center, the city's fourth tallest building, completed in October 1983.
