Lord Provost's Lamp

I've been scratching my head wondering how to take part in the Aberdeen January Blip Challenge on the subject of "light" - then I remembered this was just down the road from me! OK, maybe it's not the meaning of the word that was meant, but this is the best I could come up with!

According to the accompanying plaque, it was presented to the people of Woodside, Aberdeen to commemorate the centenary of the area on 4th - 10th August 1991. Unfortunately, over the last 20 years, it has become a bit neglected and all the surrounding trees and plants have became overgrown. This was its best side!
