Construction

Zihuatanejo has been undergoing a number of construction projects. Since our arrival almost six weeks ago, the main street has been completely repaved, a new bus stop has been built near the traffic circle, the canal wall has been repainted, and tile overhangs have been built over all the downtown sidewalks. Many times the work went on while life continued unimpaired, people stepping over or around whatever happened to be in the way. This latest project was different in that it was actually taped off, forcing residents to walk around the chainsaw wielding worker above rather than dodge whatever dropped on the sidewalk below.
