Sgwarnog: In the Field

Snow Gorse

Gorse provides rare spots of brightness in my winter landscapes, be that on the moor, or in this case, in the city.

The return of the snow today, after little more than a week of the latest thaw.

While it was falling fresh and fluffy I managed to get this shot at the edge of the amphitheatre on campus. This is our main central green space and featured in one of my earliest blips a month ago.

I like the way that the softness of the snow is juxtaposed with the long gorse thorns, and of course the gleam of colour makes the picture.
