Christmas Cactus

Christmas is over but this little cactus is clinging on. Only 2 flowers left, and you don't want to see the other one!

I used a couple of cardboard boxes to hold the plant and the camera at the right height relative to each other. A +1 close-up filter on the lens helped focus close enough, and I set the flash low so as not to bleach out the lovely red colour of the flower. Some trial and error with aperture and shutter time found a good combination of foreground (flash) and background illumination.
