Adventure To Heaven
Me and my brother went to church by ourselves today. Usually, my mom, grandma, and uncle come with us, but my grandma had to go to the hospital last night and my mom stayed there until 3:00. Needless to say, she was too tired to go to mass. So, my brother played the piano for children's liturgy (as usual) and I took my mom's place as a shepherd. I just watched the kids on their way through the parking lot (the kids leave during mass and are given a child-friendly explanation to the gospel each Sunday) and kept them quiet in the classroom. It wasn't all that exciting.
At 1:00, Jaclyn's dad drove me, Jaclyn, Gwen, and Kaitlin to heaven (a.k.a. Barnes and Noble, only the greatest chain of book stores in the world!). We shopped around for two hours and had a great time. I only bought Water For Elephants, two little memo pads, and I split a travel book with Jaclyn. Explanations: I keep hearing that Water For Elephants is a really good book, so I just bought it without even reading the back of it. My friend Peter carries a small memo pad in his pocket. In it, he writes theories, thoughts, and other such things. I think this is a fantastic idea because whenever I think of something mildly intelligent, I never have anywhere to write it down and keep it. Usually, I send myself a text (not like, "Hey, what's up?") so when I look at my phone I see the little text message symbol and know that there's something I need to remember. Harry Potter reference: A Remembrall, except I can just read what I need to remember or what I might forget. Me and Jaclyn have a common desire to travel. She wants to live in Europe at some point and I would love to study abroad in college, maybe in Italy or something... We each paid $15 for a book about 1,000 places to see before you die. Hopefully, when we're in college, we can travel to some of those places. Even if we don't, I will never regret buying that book because it is a testament to children hoping for a fantastic future filled with wonders beyond belief. That's how much we want to travel.
When I got home, I did my bio homework. It took a while and it wasn't fun....
