Pain Management....can be painful...
Today I went for my first SI Joint injection.
It hurt worse then my epidural did during labor and delivery of my 9 pound child. Of course, then I was stoned on Demerol...so I'm not sure if I can truly compare the two.
I have arthritis in my left sacroiliac joint, known as sacroiliitis. The cause is still being explored, though ankylosing spondylitis seems to be the most possible explanation.
Yes, I am 26 years old, and have arthritis. It sucks.
So does this injection. Though it will help with the pain I am feeling, it sure doesn't feel helpful right now. I had it done about 3 and a half hours ago. They had to shoot a double dose of lidocaine in to keep me from crying, and I had to take a nausea medication and have a fan on me to keep me from passing out.
I never knew something could hurt like the dickens and be numb at the same time...
Here is a small amount of information regarding SI Joint Injections.
