Hello Goodbye

Well Ambridge is 'shaken to the core'. Poor nice Nigel plummeted to his death while messing about on the roof of Toff Hall in foul weather while Miss Nasty Archer survives childbirth.

Is there no justice?

After listening for blah blah years it's come to this - weeks of a massive build up and this was it.

I was at least expecting the village hall to burn down killing all and sundry in a massive out of control barbeque or an outbreak of swine fever cutting a swath through the Archers destroying them and all of their pigs.

..but it was not to be. Now we can look forward to the Young Freddie becoming the Lord of the Manor. The poor lad is not very bright - maybe he'll pass it on to his sparkling sister.

For the uninitiated The Archers is the longest running soap opera in the world and was 'celebrating' it's sixtieth year episode tonight. The whole country was glued to the wireless.

It was like the war all over again and I see The Forces Sweetheart was over on BBC 4 - not a coincidence I think.

I can hardly wait for the next sixty years to start tomorrow.
