In a hole in the ground...

Not a hobbit, but some sort of instrumentation. The theme is water again, of course - it seems to have dominated my week. Driving between Colintraive (where the holding tanks are) and Glendaruel (where there are tankers fillings the mains) this afternoon I came across this device, connected to one of the hydrant points. I liked the shape and the colours , but presumably it is measuring pressure. Fortunately the pressure is still enough for us to get a supply at the top of our wee hill and lets hope it stays that way throughout Hogmanay and into Ne'er Day and 2011.
