One More Goodbye
I sang another funeral this evening. I know, two funerals in one week....makes for very meaningful reflection.
Similar to yesterday, this funeral was for a dear friend of our family, Leah. It was a Catholic Mass. That beautiful vase is her urn. Leah was a big supporter of the arts and never missed a production I was in. She and her husband, even flew to Atlantic City when I competed in Miss America. She struggled with her health her entire life - but she always carried herself with poise. She was generous, and loving with a sweet angelic smile. It was Leah and her husband that introduced me to Steve, my husband. There life was full of sharing love. Her husband Art is still living and while he is fragile, he rose to the occasion today to be with his family and friends.
This is the church that I grew up in. While I don't go there any more, I always love being in the space and singing there is very prayerful to me.
I am very emotionally tired. With the new year starting...loving is top on my list.
Thank you all for your comments yesterday. Sweet dreams.
