Wii session

Sam, Alex and Chloe came round for dinner drinks and a Wii session this evening. I said to Alex I'd point out that, despite the facial expression, the control pad doesn't vibrate...

The key lime pie worked out ok. When I got the zest off the limes I must have taken the pith too as it was a wee bit tart, but I quite like tart deserts. I'll try and get lest pith next time I make it.

The other thing that wen't well was the roast fillet of beef we got the recipe for . Roz did the actual roast but she was too scared to do the flambé part of the sauce, so the sauce was left to me. It was basically the juices at the bottom of the roasting tin with a double brandy added then ignited (cue lots of screaming from Roz as the flames were quite intense). Once the flames died down you add in 250ml of beef stock boil it for three minutes then add in 150ml of cream and a good dash of Worcestershire sauce and reduce it. I also deviated from the recipe and put in some extra salt and pepper and a big lump of butter after it had reduced a bit. It was lovely for a first attempt if I do say so myself.
