BEST FOOT FORWARD

Its not one of ya Arty Farty flying shots today ( unlike the last two days) but more for the purist or what we called ( in days gone by ) A Natural History worker??

This is a Juvenile NZ pied Shag. I was grateful for the encounter as they can often be a bit frightened at this age. My thought would be that it is bred early this year. It will darken up after the moult and get darker in a couple of years and I suspect this chap will be very handsome in a couple of years. He's now away from his parents and will need to fend for himself. Good Luck Mate!
