Georgia O'Keefe Country

Echo Amphitheater is near Ghost Ranch north of Abiquiu. This is the country where painter Georgia O'Keefe lived off and on from the 1930s until the 1980s when she moved to Santa Fe because of failing health. Every time I drive through this beautiful land, I see her landscape paintings come to life. The colors and the light are what convinced her to come here from New York.

We took a break at the picnic grounds here on our way to Pagosa Springs Colorado.
