Sunbeams

Two black rascals

Today is comparatively warm compared with the subzero temperatures we have been experiencing.  A lot of mud, fog and bad light - not good for inspiration - so I took myself down to the churchyard to try and catch up with the twins and here they are standing on a grave.  They are growing well and have bags of energy and are very adventurous.

The calf we are nurturing was sucking its mum this morning so we are stopping the milk powder.  Its front legs are still stiff.  Sometimes the ligaments are too tight and just have to loosen up with exercise.  We shall be watching that.

A farmer a couple of miles away told us they had a chimney fire a few days before Christmas and seven fire engines turned up! Their roof is thatched but fortunately the brigade arrived on time and so it didn't catch - just a mess in the sitting-room.  They have also had burst pipes in the yard following the thaw.
