Shovelling
The snow is now gone but poor Tim is still shovelling! The corngrinder has been playing up and we have had to feed the animals extra cow cake instead of ground barley until today when it has been working overtime. Here the ground stuff is being shovelled into the bucket of the Manitou - it usually flows into sacks attached to the grinder - don't know what happened there! The blobs on the photograph are corn dust.
The large backwards calf Tim pulled out yesterday is alive but we have had to feed it colostrum by tube into its stomach. Its front legs are stiff and there is no evidence that it has sucked its mother yet. Day by day it should become stronger. It can already get up and walk about.
