Boxing Day
This is North Landing at Flamborough on the East Coast. Its a tradition that on this day we go canoeing on the sea in the bay and then we head back to the Dakers Arms pub at Brandesburton.
Not everyone paddles, some of us go for a walk along the cliff top or stand and have a natter. Sadly the amount of people turning up seems to be dwindling and certainly yesterday none of the old crew turned up at all. Not sure why it was... maybe the cold weather and it was very cold the carpark was sheet ice.
When we got to the pub it was nice to catch up with the few that were there especially family S. We had a lovely natter and catch up with P&H exchanging news from throughout the year. We seem to only see them on Boxing Day and we said how sad it was that it seemed to be wavering off somewhat. P was saying in 35 years of him attending Boxing Day... today was the first time he'd ever known no-one get on the water.
The lack of attendance didn't dampen our day as we'd got to have a brief walk at Flamborough and we'd also got to catch up with P&H.
It was then time to head back south to deepest Northamptonshire, happy and content after a fantastic Christmas!
Hope you all had a wonderful time too!
