Beech Leaves and Snow, Manar, Aberdeenshire
Like the young hedge plants I posted here ten days ago, (16th December), the young shoots that have sprung up around the roots of this cluster of beeches have kept hold of last summer's leaves, which here make a stunning contrast against the snow.
Picture taken at the junction of the two roads that lead westward out of Inverurie towards the hamlet of Burnhervie, on the dam that holds back the old mill pond ENE of the House of Manar.
