The seventh blip of Christmas - Yule log
After yesterday's drunken football frenzy, see the carnage, this morning was never going to be that productive. Today however we have been extremely relaxed, well the girls have had a pyjama day, in fact as the night draws in, they still are. We shall however be doing Xmas a la francaise, meal on the 24th and general dancing and singing, later on so they better get ready soon.
I say relaxing, well, everyone else had a lazy afternoon watching some film or other and as the end of the year approaches, I always become quite reflective. It has been an exceptionally busy year, so spending days or weekends or even a week in PJs sounds like a very wise plan. We are recharging the batteries slowly but surely, I fell asleep for literally 3 mins in front of the fire, the heat reminded me of the beautiful heat while we were lucky enough to be in France this summer.
There is something magical about watching your family look so relaxed and happy at a time like this, to me we're hitting the true spirit of Xmas, togetherness, love, human warmth and taking time. Which is precisely what Madame did this morning making her Yule tide log. I feel very fortunate to have such a family.
The sky was beautiful today, stunning shades of light to very dark blue possibly explaining the bitter but brilliant
