We docked at St John's Bay in Antigua this morning about 8am (GMT-4).

Alongside us was another liner, the "Sea Princess, - two enormous liners in a small port. I wonder if the locals welcome us or not.

It seems churlish to mention it, but the outside temperature was 77 degrees, rising to 84 degrees when the sun came out. No Yaktrax needed then!

We had a tour of the island in a mini bus with various stops for photographs.

Although it's usually a very dry island, the hurricane season with its attendant rain which stopped at the end of November meant that it was a beautiful green oasis with banana trees, coconut trees , mango trees, bread fruit trees and cultivated fields of black pineapples, which is the national fruit.

There was a lobster lunch laid on for us at Nelson's Dockyard where Lord Nelson had a house when he was in charge of the dockyard there in the 18th century.
To accompany the lobster we had rum punch, another local product.

Then it was off to Pigeon Point for the most beautiful swim in an ocean I've had since Oman- warm water and a sandy beach.

This was a wonderful day of freedom and came not a moment to quickly to save me from committing a murder!
