Feels like the end is in sight now for the holidays, just one half-day of school and one dance class left tomorrow for one of the girls. The other is already home and dry.

Nice little party for the pre-schoolers this morning, caught the end of the magic show too and had a bit of a sing with Santa (who's been on quite a diet since his last outing if today's appearance was anything to go by). Followed by supermarket expedition for everything. Everything was bought. Over, done, dusted.

Been looking at a few end-of-year critics lists for albums of the year. One that seems to have done really well across the board (and it came out right at the start of the year too, those January outings are often long-forgotten by the time December rolls round) is the most recent Four Tet. Lovely start to it here and one of the singles from it, which is really quite punchy here. The Emeralds album topped a poll elsewhere, and this is one I bought on recommendation when it came out, but don't think I've ever listened to from start to finish. Must do better. The opening track is great though, I do know that.

Got a couple of contenders for my album of the year, or definitely the ones that I've played most anyway. Think I'll save them for a future blip.
