Two niches in the rain

A trip to the olive mill at Clermont l'Hérault this morning to buy olive oil and other goodies. We'd intended to have lunch out, in the town, but it was so miserable and wet we came straight home. I took this shot from the car, sheltering from the rain. This mazet (vineyard shelter) must have been quite palatial in its day, but it looks a bit sad now with its two niches empty. The vines are well cared for, though, as they have already been pruned ready for next year. It's surprising how quickly the vineyards change from bright summer green, through the autumn colours and into the black and sepia of winter. All the stages are beautiful, I think.
